In the 1940 census, there is a daughter, May Katherine, born abt 1932. No mention of Susan. [5, 8] "Walter J. Bauernfeind, a resident of Menasha since 1924, is general manager of the Floral Center Greenhouses. This business was started in 1924 with one small greenhouse, and has now grown to five large houses, doing a wholesale and retail floral business, and also landscaping and nursery activities. Mr. Bauernfeind is affiliated with the Menasha Kiwanis club and served on the Kiwanis safety committee for the last three years.
